FAQ
There's no such thing as a silly question!
What is a freshers wristband? How does it work?
Freshers wristbands are a week long ticket that give you access to all of our paid-entry events through freshers week. Normally, our events cost a lot more if you pay entry on the door - so you'd be saving over £25! Now that's a lot of VKs!
I don't drink, will I still enjoy freshers week?
Yes! You don't have to drink at ANY of our events. We have plenty of non-alcoholic options at our bar, and have a range of events that don't involve drinking. If you feel pressured or uncomfortable, just let a member of our team know and we can provide advice or assistance.
Who is the Students Union?
Us - Great to meet you! Our job is to represent all the students at BGU, hold the University accountable and support you where-ever you need it through academic support and your student experience. You're automatically a member as soon as you enrol - and with that, you get access to all our support, venues as well as sports and societies.
What if I struggle to make friends?
University can be daunting to start off with - but everyone is in the same boat, so don't panic! There's loads of ways to meet people at University. Introduce yourself to your neighbours in halls, join in freshers events, join a sports or society or get involved with the numerous volunteering opportunities on campus, like our volunteer team or the on-site Chaplaincy department. The more involved you get with university life, the more lifelong friends you'll make!
How can I tell if a Freshers Wristband is legitimate?
We are the ONLY providers of freshers events and wristbands that are approved by the University. Before you buy, make sure it either has our logo or links to our website (BGSU.co.uk). If you're still not sure, pop us a message or an email.
